About Carbon Black

Carbon black is an amorphous form of carbon, characterized by its lightness, looseness and extremely fine particle size with a large surface area ranging from 10-3000m2/g. It is produced through incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of carbon-containing substances under conditions of insufficient air. The structure of carbon black is determined by the degree to which its particles coalesce into chains or clusters. High structure carbon black consists of condensates that vary in size, shape and number of particles. The commonly used oil absorption value indicates the structure; the higher the oil absorption value, the higher the carbon black structure, making it easier to form a space network channel and less prone to destruction.

Carbon black is an important pigment, second only to titanium dioxide. The annual consumption of rubber carbon black in the world is about 6 million tons, while special carbon black for coloring and other uses amounts to approximately 250,000 tons. The term "special carbon black" refers to its use in "coloring" or "conducting," rather than reinforcing rubber like regular carbon black does. Carbon black is manufactured using a precision-controlled production method and can be produced in around 50 different varieties, with 30 of them being used in the rubber industry. There are also various types of carbon black available for coloring and other purposes, such as carbon black dispersions, masterbatches, conductive composites, pastes, and paint chips.

Carbon black possesses the following properties: Firstly, it is the optimal pigment for producing black paint due to its exceptional tinting strength and opacity. Secondly, it is one of the most cost-effective pigments available in the market. Thirdly, as a pigment, it exhibits remarkable coloring and hiding power. Lastly, carbon black demonstrates high stability and resistance to heat, chemicals, and light.

The domestic environmental protection company in Malaysia, highly recommended by its peers, reached out to Shanghai Clirik expressing their interest in collaborating on expanding the production of refined carbon black powder. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, physical inspections were not feasible. Clirik's HGM80 production line is a compact powder production line measuring only 15 meters in length, capable of adjusting the fineness of the final product between 200 and 2500 mesh with particle content smaller than 2μm reaching nearly 70%. Through optimization and upgrading, this equipment maintains high-quality output while increasing production capacity by an additional 3-5%. With a main power consumption of only 75KW, a single HGM80 equipment production line can provide over one ton of hourly production resulting in an annual output exceeding 5,000 tons. Compared to other mills operating at similar generator power levels, its output is almost doubled while energy consumption is reduced by over 30% based on finished product fineness. By utilizing small models to create large-scale production capacity, our customer expressed great satisfaction with our equipment and praised it as follows: "A single carbon black grinding production line's capacity has already matched that of our two tire cracking production lines!"

Mill Features

(1) Energy-saving and environmentally friendly measures include a negative pressure working system with overall equipment sealing, direct conveyance of finished products to a large warehouse, and prevention of dust spillage to ensure a clean production environment.

(2) The stability of the final product quality is guaranteed by minimizing the residence time during material grinding, thereby reducing unnecessary repetition and ensuring consistent particle size and chemical composition.

(3) Revised sentence: High energy efficiency is achieved through three aspects: the specialized grinding structure forms an effective and stable material layer; the equipment produces minimal vibration, resulting in pollution-free products with excellent whiteness; and it consumes only 30% of the power compared to similar grinding machines.

(4) All-weather operation capability is ensured through the following: 1) reducer assembly with a circulation oil lubrication system and a water cooling system; 2) guaranteeing uninterrupted production for 24 hours on the production line.
